Jordan Kent's Just Kids Skill Camp

Updated: Jun 5, 2022

I've noticed that there are still a lot of Treasure Valley parents who are looking for summer camp options that still have openings so I thought I'd share another new to the area athletic focused program that I think sounds really awesome.

The camps were founded by Jordan Kent, a college football, basketball and track athlete who went on to play football for the Seattle Seahawks and St. Louis Rams. After he finished playing in the NFL he started Just Kids Skill Camps as a way of creating a place for the next generation to fall in love with sports like he did.

Unlike some camps that are really drill heavy, these camps work on making sports FUN and approachable for all participants (ages 6-12). During each week of camp, kids get to choose between football, basketball, and soccer (or a mix!) and the camps also focus on nutrition education (in a fun, age-appropriate way) and character development (think: embracing failure, working as a team, and not giving up).

The camps were started 11 years ago and have spread and grown really fast. Last summer, they had just under 4,000 kids attend one of their 30 camps throughout Oregon and Washington. This summer will be their first in Boise and they've had such a good response that they were able to add a second session! The first session is taking place June 20-23 and the second on August 1-4. Both sessions will be held at Highlands Elementary from 9am - 3 pm each day (with a partial, 9am-1pm option available) and as of right now there are still openings for each one.
