Memorial Day Celebration 2026
The City of Nampa will hold a Memorial Day Ceremony to honor the men and women who served our country and the many who made the ultimate sacrifice of giving their lives so that we might live in freedom.

The one-hour ceremony begins at 10am May 25 at the Veteran’s Loop of Kohlerlawn Cemetery, 76 6th St. N. Nampa. Parking will be available in designated areas.

The Meridian community will gather to mark Memorial Day with an uplifting and patriotic ceremony at the Rock of Honor Veterans Memorial located insider Kleiner Park. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 am and last approximately 45 minutes. Seating is limited, so attendees are encouraged to bring folding chairs or lawn blankets.

Presented by the Rock of Honor Board, the City of Meridian, and other local veterans organizations.

Kleiner Park is located at 1900 N. Records Avenue in Meridian. The Rock of Honor is located just southwest of the Meridian Senior Center Building.

Memorial Day is a special day at the museum to learn, reflect, and honor those who have lost their lives serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

We’re offering $5 admission and (weather permitting) warbirds will fly over select locations throughout the area in tribute to those we have lost. A detailed map of our flyover route will be released closer to the event.

Springfest is a free, family-friendly bluegrass festival ON Monday, May 25, 2026 (Memorial Day) at Green Acres Food Truck Park in Boise. Organized by the Idaho Bluegrass Association and Green Acres, the event runs from 10:30 am to 8:30 pm.
The festival features a lineup of 9 local bluegrass bands performing throughout the day.
A special midday square dance at 3pm is a central part of the festivities, featuring live callers Karla and Andy and the band Cattywampus & Kin. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own instruments (and chairs) to participate in the informal play-along during the Square dance.

What is this for?
1.) To have FUN! – All ages and abilities are welcome to attend. There will be games, prizes, bounce houses, pictures, food trucks, social spaces, stage performances, vendors, exhibitors, and information booths for disability support and advocacy.
2.) To recruit Caregivers – There are not enough caregivers; this is a crisis, and we need help. But what does being a caregiver look like? Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are the foundation of all support given to people with disabilities in our community by providing one-on-one personal care services that clinical professionals do not have time for. DSPs help people live full and meaningful lives. Again, what does this look like? Come to the Carnival and see. See how these amazing people interact and support their clients and friends. Interact with community members who need support and decide if you have time or interest in becoming a DSP. There will be agencies hiring and a booth of community support worker positions. Full-time, part-time, days, nights, evenings, weekends, and all shifts are available. If you need training, that is no problem; we can help with that too. Being a Caregiver is not for everyone. That’s okay. If you only attend to have FUN, you are still supporting our community!
3.) To Connect our Community – It is hard to ask for help. It is even harder to find help when you don’t know who to ask. Many times, people do not know there is help for them.
If you feel alone or unable to get the support you need, come to our Carnival. Our community is full of amazing and knowledgeable people who care. This event is an opportunity to network with and meet others who believe that Everyone Deserves Support. We need to support those who give support.

This short class relives my path to Rocket Science. As a child of the 1960s space race, all things of air and space were the rage. Model airplanes were the way people of all ages joined the fascination with space, many following it through to NASA, the moon landing, and etc. However, I stopped at gliders for their simplicity and the simple beauty of wings and tail. Over the course of three 1.5hr workshops, participants will build a glider, have an in-depth flight lab to perfect it, and refine skills for continuing this simple and wonderful tradition.

• How to assemble a balsawood plane 

• How to finely tune a balsawood plane, for the perfect flight 

• A good sense of the materials and techniques

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Athletics is hosting Movie on The Blue, sponsored by Dodd Roofing and Exteriors and Lexus on Friday, May 29 at 7 p.m. Jurassic Park was selected through an online poll and is rated PG-13 by the Motion Pictures Association of America for several intense sequences that might be alarming to younger viewers.

Admission to the event is free and parking will be complimentary in the west lot located between Albertsons Stadium and ExtraMile Arena. 

Gates will open at 6 p.m. and the movie will start at 7 p.m. 

Fans are invited to enter the stadium through the Allen Noble Hall of Fame.

The movie will be presented on both the north end zone and south end zone  video boards. 

Seating will be available in the west stadium stands and on the field. Seats with legs are not permitted on The Blue. 

Fans will be able to bring refillable beverage bottles and cups to utilize water stations located on The Blue and in the concourse. Bottle/cups must be empty for entry.

Fans will have the opportunity to interact with Boise State student-athletes and take part in family activities from 6-7 p.m.

42nd Annual Saint Alphonsus Capitol Classic Run 2026

Join us for the 42nd Saint Alphonsus Capitol Classic Kids Run on Saturday, May 30th, 2026 at 11:00 AM! This beloved one-mile run is open to children 15 under.

This short class relives my path to Rocket Science. As a child of the 1960s space race, all things of air and space were the rage. Model airplanes were the way people of all ages joined the fascination with space, many following it through to NASA, the moon landing, and etc. However, I stopped at gliders for their simplicity and the simple beauty of wings and tail. Over the course of three 1.5hr workshops, participants will build a glider, have an in-depth flight lab to perfect it, and refine skills for continuing this simple and wonderful tradition.

• How to assemble a balsawood plane 

• How to finely tune a balsawood plane, for the perfect flight 

• A good sense of the materials and techniques

Children and their families are invited to dig in alongside library staff and Master Gardener volunteers as we water, weed, prune, and harvest together. This will be a relaxed, come-and-go experience where kids can get their hands dirty, learn simple gardening methods, and even take home some fresh veggies or herbs.

Musical Tales at the Library, presented by Tree City Chamber Players, is a 45-minute event featuring story telling interjected with live classical music by Ravel, Bizet, and more, featuring flute, oboe and piano. Children's books featured: The Bear and the Piano written and illustrated by David Litchfield, and Wild Symphony by Dan Brown, illustrated by Susan Batori. 

Tree City Chamber Players features Melanie Keller, flute, Ryan Klein, oboe, and Chad Spears, piano. 

These events are free thanks to a generous grant from the Boise City Department of Arts and History.

Get ready to stomp, roar, and fly back in time! Join us for an action-packed storytime as we explore the giant, fascinating world of dinosaurs. Admission is $16 per person (or 2 for $25).

Hailey J Boucher has teamed up with the Lit Room and Common Ground for a special launch party for “Eliza Picklepear”. Eliza Picklepear was written by Sherri Jackson, Hailey’s mom who passed away when Hailey was in high school. Sherri had written dozens of children’s poems, and hoped to publish them, but she passed before she was able. Hailey has illustrated the first of her works by hand and is self publishing in her honor. Both of them are Boise Idaho locals.

We’ll be hosting a read through and brief introduction talk at common ground coffee, as well as signing copies for sale. Bring your littles to enjoy the silly quirky tale of Eliza Picklepear, the girl with the world’s most enormous hair, and support local artists and authors.

The Sensory Guide Map is designed to support our visitors by identifying sensory input in spaces throughout the Center. The information included shows varying types of stimuli (audio, visual or tactile) and uses color coding to indicate the level of stimulation that may be present in each section of our facility. Please be aware that at high traffic times, activity levels and therefore stimuli all around the Center tend to be heightened.

Sensory Kits

Sensory Kits will be available upon request at the front desk on a first come, first serve basis. These kits include noise-reducing headphones, sunglasses and various fidget toys to support visitors during their time at the Discovery Center of Idaho. Visitors must temporarily deposit an identification card at the front desk to check out a Sensory Kit, and will receive it back upon returning the kit.

The Caldwell Farm to Fork Farmer’s Market is part of Tuesdays on the Creek at Indian Creek Plaza in downtown Caldwell. The Farmer’s Market runs from 5pm – 9pm, in conjunction with the Summer Concert Series, which runs from 6pm – 8pm.

Calling all future aviators and creators! Join our A-10 Warthog Model Building Workshop designed for kids ages 12–16. This is an intermediate level workshop geared toward participants with model building experience.

In this two-day, supervised workshop, participants will build their own scale model of the legendary A-10 Thunderbolt II—better known as the Warthog—while learning about the aircraft’s history, design, and mission. Our team of master model builders will guide students step-by-step, as they hone model-building skills, patience, and attention to detail. All necessary supplies are provided, and students will take their model home with them!

Limited to 11 participants. All participants need to bring a sack lunch. Refrigeration and microwaves are available.

This short class relives my path to Rocket Science. As a child of the 1960s space race, all things of air and space were the rage. Model airplanes were the way people of all ages joined the fascination with space, many following it through to NASA, the moon landing, and etc. However, I stopped at gliders for their simplicity and the simple beauty of wings and tail. Over the course of three 1.5hr workshops, participants will build a glider, have an in-depth flight lab to perfect it, and refine skills for continuing this simple and wonderful tradition.

• How to assemble a balsawood plane 

• How to finely tune a balsawood plane, for the perfect flight 

• A good sense of the materials and techniques

The annual Fish with a Cop event is open to all community members. It stems from the Boise Police Association’s (BPA) law enforcement fishing tournament. Thanks to funds raised during the tournament, the BPA we will stock the pond at McDevitt Park with about 500 trout with some weighting up to 5 lbs. Last year we gave out about 45 rods and reels to the kids and their families and hope to do the same this year. There is no fishing license requirement for this event.
