Join us for a memorial walk/run honoring and supporting women and families affected by infertility, pregnancy loss, and infant loss.
It’s our 7th annual event! We’d love you to join us to support a great cause around Mother’s Day! New venue at our Boise location!
Chances are, we all know women who have been affected by infertility, pregnancy loss, or infant loss. Mother’s Day may not feel the same to them. In 20“`17, on Mother’s Day weekend, my pregnancy took an unexpected turn and I lost my son Ben at nearly 20 weeks. Running was a form of therapy and solace.
In 2020, my dear friend Rachel Skeen reached out to me with a vision, which has grown over the last 6 years into a beautiful community.
This cause will have a kick-off in-person event in Boise on May 3th- (International Bereaved Mother’s Day), continuing through May 15 with virtual options. If you can’t join us in Boise Idaho, you can run/walk on your own time and at your own pace.

The moment you enter the Plaza, lively music fills the air with rhythmic guitars and upbeat folklórico melodies that set the tone for the entire night. Joining them in the spotlight is the always festive Ballet Folklorico Mexico Lindo dancers.
Colorful rows of vendors line Downtown streets, offering handcrafted goods, art, and clothing that reflect the richness of Mexican heritage.

Homeschool Days @ Discovery Center of Idaho
During the school year, we will be welcoming homeschool groups to reserve and pay for their visit in advance ($15 per chaperone, $10 per child; there is no membership discount available for this program).
To enhance the experience of all of our visitors, we are limiting ticket sales, so we ask that each group attend only one Homeschool Day per exhibition.
Registrants must purchase tickets* in advance at our website; tickets for each event will go on sale two weeks ahead of the event. Please carefully consider the date options before you register, as all sales are final and we are unable to refund any ticket sales for this special program. On each date, doors will be open for registrants to check in using their pre-purchased tickets from 10 am – 12 pm at the front desk. Late arrival tickets will NOT be honored.
We are excited to offer the purchase of special take-home activity kits related to the current exhibition made just for our Homeschool day families! Details about the kits can be found using the registration link for the specific date. We ask that each family purchase only one set, which contains the materials for multiple activities, some of which can be done as a team and some which can be done for up to 4 individuals.
Kits will be available at the front desk for pick up on arrival at Homeschool Day.
*Please note: Admission cost for this event may not be applied to a membership.

BALSA WOOD GLIDER WORKSHOP SERIES
May 28, 20265:30 pm – 7:00 pm Jack's Urban Meeting Place (JUMP), 1000 W Myrtle St, Boise, ID 83702, USA
MAKE STUDIO WORKSHOP SERIES
THURSDAYS MAY 28-JUNE 11 | 5:30-7 PM | MAKE STUDIO | AGES 10+ | FREE
Three-session workshop series to learn about and create the perfect balsa wood glider. No experience necessary.
This short class relives my path to Rocket Science. As a child of the 1960s space race, all things of air and space were the rage. Model airplanes were the way people of all ages joined the fascination with space, many following it through to NASA, the moon landing, and etc. However, I stopped at gliders for their simplicity and the simple beauty of wings and tail. Over the course of three 1.5hr workshops, participants will build a glider, have an in-depth flight lab to perfect it, and refine skills for continuing this simple and wonderful tradition.
PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN:
How to assemble a balsawood plane
How to finely tune a balsawood plane, for the perfect flight
A good sense of the materials and techniques
TAKEAWAYS:
A beautiful balsawood plane
MATERIALS TO BRING:
Close toed shoes and clothes for the shop environment.
INSTRUCTOR BIO:
Trained as a rocket scientist (Aerospace Engineering, Princeton), but built a career as a computer scientist at the dawn of the internet. After a decade of programming, pursued (and caught!) a doctorate in Computer Science (Brandeis University) to finally learn something about programming. Returning the favor, taught at Boise State University briefly before returning to industry. Currently retired.
Every Thursday night, kids from the community (accompanied by an adult) can bring their bike to work hands on with our team of volunteer mechanics to repair or maintain their bicycle free of charge! Anyone is welcome and can come any time between 6pm-7pm.

Downtown Caldwell bursts to life with an atmosphere that feels both celebratory and deeply rooted in Mexican heritage. The moment you enter the Plaza, lively music fills the air with rhythmic guitars and upbeat folklórico melodies that set the tone for the entire night. Tejano Outlaw and Nueva Generacion 2000 share the stage throughout the night bringing us authentic Latin sounds. Joining them in the spotlight is the always festive Ballet Folklorico Mexico Lindo dancers.
Colorful rows of vendors line Downtown streets, offering handcrafted goods, art, and clothing that reflect the richness of Mexican heritage.
The scent of authentic food fills the Plaza, drawing people toward sizzling grills and bustling taco trucks. Every bite is a celebration of spices, flavors, and culinary traditions—steamy tortillas, slow-cooked meats, bold salsas, and sweet treats that make the experience unforgettable.
Most of all, Cinco de Mayo at Indian Creek Plaza is about community and family. People of all ages and cultural backgrounds come together in one place to celebrate Mexican culture and history, creating an atmosphere that feels warm, welcoming, and full of life.
