Moretracks is Boise's newest children's program and it is wonderfully unique. In short, Moretracks offers before & after school programs, weekend offerings, service learning projects, parents’ nights out, summer camps, home school opportunities, custom adventures & parties and programming during school breaks and days off. What makes it so special is what they're striving to achieve through these program offerings.

Along with their goals of providing kids educational opportunities and exploration while having FUN, Moretracks has a deep commitment to service and the local community. Each of their programs are meant to inspire the next generation to become engaged and compassionate citizens, to be stewards of the natural world and to find their very best selves.

Programming includes full week summer camps, parents' nights out, recurring programs across several weeks and shorter 1-3 day mini-camps for ages 6-16. Programming topics include Gardening for Good, Farmers Market Cooking Challenges, Nature Art, Skateboarding, Wilderness Survival Skills, Random Acts of Kindness, Board Games and more. Take a look at all of the options and register here.

One of the coolest parts of this new program is the team behind it! You really can't find more passionate or qualified people to lead something like this.

Here's a short version of their story from the director Paul:

Nora and I have both been teachers for over 15 years. We started in the public schools south of Seattle. When we decided we needed a change of pace and wanted to explore teaching and learning in a different light, we moved to Asia with our two-year-old daughter. We began working at international schools in Bangladesh and China for 6 years. While overseas, working with students and families from all over the world, we honed our craft as teachers, using inquiry and project-based practices to venture out of the confines of the school and engage in meaningful real-world experiences, actions, and service with our students. An experience we were so grateful for in Asia was the opportunity to build strong relationships in the local communities we lived in and give back by volunteering in local schools.

Upon returning to the States our love for mountains brought us to Idaho and a desire for an active and engaged community for our children brought us to Boise. Nora is an IB Coordinator at Sage International Schools and I have been teaching at Future Public School since we made Idaho our home. Nora and I co-develop the curriculum at Moretracks. She is the administrator and I am on the ground, working directly with the kids.

We are beyond excited to provide something new to the kids and families in Idaho. We know there is such a positive impact that comes from giving kids opportunities to explore, take risks, play, unplug, and spend time outdoors. We want to be leaders in building active and engaged young citizens who want to do good. Serving others is fundamental to our mission.
