This is one of our FAVORITE weeks - the annual Moppet Togs Kids Consignment Sale is happening and you won't want to miss it! If you've never heard of it before, Moppet Togs is the area's "premier" kids consignment sale and has been around for 17 years! It's held twice a year, once in the Spring with a focus on Spring and Summer items and again in the Fall with specifically Fall and Winter items. This sale will have tons of Halloween costumes and great winter gear like snow boots and heavy coats.
The sales are HUGE! So big they're held in the Expo Idaho Center and it is PACKED with children's clothing (every brand you've ever seen before!), shoes, toys, furniture, books, games, puzzles, strollers, sports equipment, decor, high chairs, carseats, backpacks and pretty much anything else you can think of that a kid could ever need! Each sale there are around 450 individual consignors which bring in a total of 60,000 items. Yes, you read that right! Can you believe it?!
The pricing for ALL items starts at $2.50 and goes up by .50 cent increments from there. Since each consignor prices their own items there can be a pretty big range in prices. For example during the Spring/Summer sale I found a pair of Native shoes for $10 and a very similar pair in the same size and color for only $2.50! It really pays to look carefully through each item to find the best quality and the best price. It's the best scavenger hunt!
The major perk of being a consignor is that you get to shop the sale before it opens to the public. Unsurprisingly the reeeeally good stuff goes quickly so the pre-sale shopping really is worthwhile. Not only that but you get paid anywhere from 45-70%+ of all the items of yours that sell. -Tickets are $5/person (kids 2 and under are free) + booking fee + sales tax
-Thursday and Friday slots are 2 hours long and Saturday and Sunday slots are 90 minutes
-125 shoppers are allowed in the building at a time

Park in the big parking lot and walk down to the "North Expo" building. Bring a wagon if you have one - they come in handy and shopping carts are limited!
Pro Tips:
-Come with a list! It's easy to get overwhelmed with the huge selection so it is nice to have something to keep you focused!
-If you're in need of gear/equipment or shoes - check those sections first - the good stuff goes fast!
-Clothing is separated into boys and girls and in size order.
-Leave your kiddos at home! It'll be easier to get through everything annnnd you can snag some great birthday and Christmas presents without them seeing! ;)
-For real bring a wagon and/or big huge bags to keep all your items in while you shop.
-Stop by the Boise With Kids vendor table and say hi/grab a piece of candy on your way to check out!
