"Real Life in Boise With Kids" - a weekly series where Boise With Kids will feature real, relatable, normal parents doing awesome things across the Treasure Valley. It'll be a space where local parents can share about their passions and give real, honest, tried and true feedback and tips for living their "best (family) life" in Boise. Hopefully it'll give you a chance to learn more about our community, inspire you to try out new places and activities, and get hooked up with pertinent, useful stuff that will help you and your family to thrive in Boise.

Meet Sara: Hey there, friends! I'm Sara, I live in Boise with my husband and two silly boys Henry & Edison! A little over a year ago we quit our 9-5's and now we eat dessert all day. Just kidding - but we do now own and manage Blue Cow Frozen Yogurt together as a family in SE Boise. We never guessed we'd own a froyo shop together, but we love every minute of it. Our date night spot in college is now our livelihood and home away from home. It's been challenging, but also so rewarding. I have to say that connecting with customers and making new friends within the Treasure Valley small business community has been the best part.
A year into this venture and we are now launching a food truck and Blue Cow spin off called Blue Cow Kitchen. In addition to swirling up Instagram worthy crazy soft serve creations and Boba teas, we'll also serve delicious artisan sandwiches and other rotating foodie & kid approved menu options.
You can find us at various subdivisions at the end of the summer and a bigger debut at the Switchback food truck park for a weekend later in September/October! If you need a food truck for an upcoming event - message us! We'd love to bring the Blue Cow family party to you!

Saturday markets (Boise, Meridian, Eagle, all of them!)
Ivy Wild Pool (they have the best kid section and water slide attractions for a local pool).
Favorite Family-Friendly Places to Eat:
I love when I find a delicious place that doesn't make me feel uncomfortable bringing my high spirited kids
BBQ 4 Life is our go to BBQ spot and has the best pulled pork and mac and cheese sandwich EVER.
Pizza Pie Cafe: It's our go to buffet spot when our kids want pizza & I want to feed them immediately - haha! Also, it's family owned and local. I love their salad bar and dessert pizza.
Hook and Reel: Seafood, good drinks and kids can draw on the table. This one is always a win for us. PS pro mom tip - order ONE of the kid's spaghetti meals and it is enough for a small army of children.
Best Park/Playground:
We love tucked away neighborhood parks. Helen B Lowder in SE Boise has great shade. We also love Comba park & splash pad near the Boise Urban Garden school.
Best Part of Life in Boise with Kids:
I love having Boise With Kids as a guide to events in the Treasure Valley that are truly family friendly. I look forward to the weekly roundup of weekend events to plan out our weekend outings as a family!
Funny Parenting Moment:
Our youngest son Eddie (2) thinks that cows say "mmm froyo" instead of Moo! Ha! Owning a cow themed frozen yogurt shop has really shaped his world view.
