Your Weekend Roundup: Nov 11-13

Happy Friday, Jr. everyone! Looks like we've got a chilly but hopefully dry weekend ahead of us. Looking for something to do with your family? Here's your weekly roundup of family-friendly events happening across the Treasure Valley this weekend. All of the details and more events are on our Events Calendar. Friday, November 11th:

*Note that some city and public businesses may be closed due to Veteran's Day!*


"The public is invited to attend an uplifting and patriotic Veterans Day Ceremony at the Rock of Honor Veterans Memorial located inside Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park. This outdoor ceremony begins at 11:00 am and will last approximately 45 minutes. Seating is limited, so please consider bringing your own folding chair or lawn blanket. Presented by Meridian's American Legion Post 113, VFW Post 4000, and the City of Meridian."


-Free day at the Children's Museum of Idaho for all Military (active & retired), First Responders & their families.

"You’re invited to join us at Scentsy Commons for a dazzling light display. Our sixth annual Christmas Lights Ceremony is from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11. We’ll officially turn on the lights with a countdown beginning at 6:15 p.m. The countdown will also be streamed live.

Our campus has been wrapped in over 900,000 beautiful lights, including Scentsy’s signature light tunnel. And our 75-foot-tall, light-up Christmas tree!

To add to the fun, the following food trucks will be on-site from 5:30-8 p.m.:

• Rusty Dog • Coned Pizza • Double Decker Espresso • Tonys Tamales • Hiroyuki Hibachi • Churro Bros • Ramen Sho • Mobile mini donuts • Walking Sombrero Tacos • Crumbl Cookies


This entire event will take place outside on the Scentsy campus, so dress warm! The Scentsy building is closed, but porta potties will be available. Rules for visiting our campus include no smoking, no alcohol, no pets, no weapons and no littering.The lights will continue to be on every night from sunset to sunrise; from Nov. 11, 2022, through Jan. 16, 2023.

Gather your family and friends and join us for a bright night out to kick off the holiday season.


Saturday, November 12th:

-Kids Discovery Expo at Expo Idaho:

"MOMS, DADS and GRANDPARENTS ... don't miss the Kids Discovery Expo at Expo Idaho where children Explore, Create and Discover. "The foundation of Idaho’s culture is its Indigenous tribes, who have been on this land since time immemorial and continue to care for the state’s natural resources. November is Native American Heritage month. Join the Idaho State Museum and Darren Parry, Former Chairman of the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation, to learn more about Indigenous culture in Idaho at the November Family Second Saturday event.

Darren will lead story times with stories he wrote at 1pm and 2pm, and activities will run from 12-3pm. All ages are welcome, and the event is free with Museum admission! This is an ongoing event every second Saturday of the month. Purchase admission in advance or pay at the door. Enjoy your visit? Sunday, November 13th:

-Veteran's Day Workout at the Village
