-"Trim the Trees" at Lucky Peak State Park - Drop in for some winter fun at Discovery Unit of Lucky Peak State Park. Help us make pinecone bird feeder garland to hang around the trees and decorate your own special wooden "tree cookie" to take home. Event will be held outside under our middle picnic pavilion, please dress for winter conditions. Bring the whole family and your own mug or thermos. Hot cocoa and craft supplies will be provided.
Hot cocoa and activities are free! Park Motor Vehicle Entrance Fee is $7.00 per vehicle, waived if you have a valid Idaho State Parks Passport properly displayed on your windshield. *note: Discovery Park is exact CASH or CHECK only.
-Check out Holidays at the Farm anytime from 1-7pm! Enjoy a wagon ride around the tree lot, have some hot chocolate, take festive family photos and more!
-Eagle Music + Art Open House at Encore Creative Center - Join several of Encore's music instructors and art instructor Carrie Walker for an open house evening!
Family open mic at 6pm, Art demos (hands on with several mediums!) start at 6:30pm, and musical instrument explorations start at 7:00pm. All free!
Saturday, December 10th:
-Breakfast with Santa, and Princess Elsa, Anna, Belle & Guests! - Twigs will be serving Crème brulee French Toast, scrambled egss, bacon, breakfast potatoes, and strawberries. Served with you choice of coffee, juice, or milk for $22 per individual (adult or child) and does not include tax or gratuity. $8 mimosas will be available for the adults and hot chocolates for the kids. The entertainment in attendance will be Santa, Belle, Elsa, Anna, Elves, and Christmas Bear, and llamas who will be outside welcoming guests! Reservations can be made by calling 208-895-0029
-LAST Nampa Farmers Market - It's the FINAL Market Week of 2022 and we are inviting our Market Community to come out and enjoy some Last-Chance Holiday shopping with your favorite local vendors, bringing you the VERY best they have to offer! We also have our 2nd annual Last-Chance-Dance-Off, and you can sign up to boogie and get warm at 12:30 pm. Make sure to come out and enjoy the foods, sights, sounds, and more at the Nampa Farmers Market Winter Wonderland from 11am to 3pm in Lloyd Square Park this weekend!
-Children's Winterland Festival - Returning this year, Meridian Parks and Recreation and All American Insurance are teaming up for a free in person Children's Winterland Festival.
Families are invited to attend this Christmas celebration featuring arts, crafts, games, photos with Santa and more! Admission is free, but donations of cash or cans for the Meridian Food Bank are encouraged. Visit ChristmasinMeridian.org or call (208) 888-3579 for more details.
-Cookies, Cocoa, and Photos with Santa at CHOW - Santa Claus is coming to CHOW! We're co-hosting Santa Claus at CHOW Public Market and Eatery on 12/10 from 12:30-3:00 PM. We'll have cookies, hot cocoa, and some activities too. Bring a non-perishable food item to take a photo with Santa Claus. All donations support the Idaho Food Bank.
-Visit Santa at Holidays at the Farm from 1-7: As the Holiday nears Santa needs to return home to exercise the Reindeer and Complete maintenance on the Sleigh so he is ready for his big night! So he will only be visiting us on Saturday and Sunday of this weekend. Rumor has it he may have a helper with him on Saturday! Come out and check out the Farm and all its splendors! We can't wait to meet you!
-Winter Wonder Village: Family Second Saturday After Hours at the Idaho State Museum - Come celebrate the holiday season at the Idaho State Museum! The museum is hosting the public over three nights to explore Winter Wonder Village and participate in special programming including festive crafts, music, and activities while enjoying the illuminated historic houses located in Pioneer Village.
Participate in a special after-hours Family Second Saturday. Enjoy a discounted admission rate for both indoor museum exhibits and outdoor Winter Wonder Village display of $5 per person. ISHS Members and children under 5 years old are free. Special wintry-themed crafts, a snowy-themed scavenger hunt with prizes, and hot chocolate are included. Other concessions will be available for purchase. Programming is specifically designed for family audiences. This December’s special edition of Family Second Saturday will feature a jolly guest!
Join us for this ho-ho-holiday event to hear Santa read "The Night Before Christmas." Stick around after the story to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Santa is free to visit with museum admission. You can take your own photo so bring a camera or phone! Donations are welcome and appreciated. Santa will be reading the story at 5:30pm. Attendees can visit with Santa until 7:30pm.
Sunday, December 11th:
-Boise Depot Holiday Open House - Celebrate the season at the beautiful Boise Depot! Bring the family for face painting, a story time reading of the Polar Express with the conductor at 2 p.m., plus photos with Santa, delicious treats and more. This event is free to attend (cookies and hot chocolate will be sold on site)
-Classic Movie at the Idaho State Museum: Miracle on 34th Street - Doors open at 12:30 p.m., Showing starts at 1 p.m. Movie Tickets are $5 for non-members, free for members Rated G *Gallery admissions not included with movie tickets. Concessions will be available for purchase. “Oh, Christmas isn't just a day, it's a frame of mind.” – Edmund Gwenn as Kris Kringle, Miracle on 34th Street The holidays are fast approaching, and what better way to celebrate than with a screening of the classic 1947 film Miracle on 34th Street at the Idaho State Museum! Throughout the month of December, the Museum will have a Maureen O’Hara pop-up exhibit on display in the Canyon gallery. Pop up exhibit is included with admission to the galleries see our website for admission pricing.
