Skyhawks Sports Academy Offers Programs Across the Treasure Valley (2024)

Entering into the world of youth sports can be overwhelming for families. It requires a lot of time and commitment from both the parents and the kids! And then what if the kid hates it? And then there's this whole world of competitive sports and tournaments and travel teams and goodness - it's just a lot to navigate and can make you not even want to try at all!

Luckily, we have Skyhawks Sports Academy to take away a lot of those problems! Skyhawks is the go-to introduction to all sports for kiddos ages 3-13. They use sports as a vehicle to educate kids. At a Skyhawks program you will find structure, a progressive curriculum, low-pressure atmosphere, and kid-centric coaches who want to see your kiddos thrive not just in sports, but in life! All of their programs are co-ed and no kiddo is turned away. One of the best parts is that they provide all the necessary equipment so that parents don't have to financially commit to a sport before their kiddo gives it a go. They offer so many programs for kids of all ages and stages and in locations across the entire Treasure Valley all year round.

Have a little one that would thrive in an organized activity? Skyhawk's SuperTots programming is for children ages 2-5. Classes for kids ages 2-3.5 are parent participation classes where tots can experience their first introduction to sports alongside their favorite adult. They will learn fine motor skills, the ability to take instruction from a coach, basic fundamentals and early development skills. For this age they can offer core sports such as HoopsterTots (Basketball), BaseballTots, 1stDownTots (Football), and SoccerTots. These classes are colorful and involve lots of movement - perfect for that age and ability!

Skyhawks Treasure Valley programming starts at age 6 through age 13. Their focus is on the introductory/intermediate athlete. It is non-league play which means there is low time commitment for parents - no tournaments or travel. These programs benefit parents of kiddos who are interested in sports but may not have the confidence yet to go be on a team or may not have the time to commit to a team. A typical program meets from 4-8 weeks at the same time and location for 30-60 minutes per session. They offer Sports including (but not limited to) Soccer, Flag Football, Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, Tennis, Beginning Golf (Modified equipment), Track & Field, Soft Lacrosse, Pickleball, alternative sports (capture the flag, dodgeball, kickball, etc.), STEM Sports, and more.

Skyhawks offers enriching Summer Camps every week of the Summer in multiple locations! Kiddos will learn fundamentals of various sports as well as socialize with other campers, play camp games, build confidence, and learn life skills through sports! Half day camps are from 9am-12pm and full day camps are from 9am-3pm. Learn more and register through the Boise With Kids Summer Camps Guide 2024.

Does Skyhawks sounds like a dream to you - the adult? Skyhawks is constantly hiring kid-centric coaches who want to provide enrichment to the youth. Owner Levi Hewitt emphasized that they're "not only growing better little people through their programs but are hoping to provide value & enrichment to the next generation entering the workforce as well." They have a lengthy onboarding process to ensure their coaches are a good fit to be engaging with the children that parents entrust them with. Coaches are background checked, CPR & First Aid certified and go through extensive and ongoing training. Skyhawks Boise is a local, veteran, woman and parent owned company. Contact them at boise@skyhawks.com if becoming a Skyhawks coach sounds like a great fit for you or someone you know!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! Skyhawks is hosting their 2nd annual FREE "Day of Play" this year at Ann Morrison Park on Saturday, April 20, 2024. Kiddos will receive a goody bag, tshirt, sports ball, and get to rotate around multiple sports stations coached by their professional staff.
