Hello! We’re the Rich family and we love adventures. We have lived in Boise for 11 years and have explored all over the Treasure Valley and the world. There is so much to see and do!
A few years ago, when our kids were 5 and 9, we spent a couple of weeks in Italy. We knew they would be bored if we didn’t cater it to them, so we found a couple of books to help them spot important things, like statues and buildings. It was a huge hit. That’s where the idea for On the Hunt Books came from. We started with On the Hunt: Oahu, Hawaii, and soon realized that our hometown needed a book, so we created On the Hunt: Boise for other families to explore the places we love.
On the Hunt: Boise was created for families with children ages 6-18, with a bit of social media fun for older teenagers and adults. We have arranged the book as a potential itinerary by grouping things into geographical areas, with a bit of history, puzzles, and coloring pages to keep everyone entertained. Through 75 pages, you’ll rope swing into a river, explore an old prison, hike to an abandoned mine, make your way through a corn maze, walk the Greenbelt, pick cherries and much, much more.

Hello Treasure Valley Families! We would love to introduce ourselves! We are a blended family of five. I’m Amy and I grew up in a farming family here in the Treasure Valley. I have had a career in dental hygiene for almost 20 years now. My life partner, Todd, is in law enforcement and has a small business that provides mobile oil changing services. Our biggest joys and responsibility in life are our 5 beautiful children who range in age from 7-23. They are a big reason we started The Holidays at the Farm.

We are a family owned business that specializes in selling high quality, fresh Christmas trees. We also sell tree stands and other items needed for a real Christmas tree.
Our backstory is interesting and kind of funny. I have a son that went to work for the previous owner of the tree lot. He absolutely loved working for the family and thought selling Christmas trees was the coolest thing ever. That summer, the family decided they were moving to Hawaii of all places. I asked them what their plans were for the tree lot and he said, "I don't know. Do you want it?" And voila, we owned a Christmas tree lot! That was almost 7 years ago and we have had a blast with it ever since.
There are a couple of unique things we provide our customers: 1) We buy our trees from the same farmer every year. He only sells to a handful of tree lot owners so our trees are incredible. When other tree lots are having trees cut in October, our Christmas trees are literally cut fresh from the field, put on our truck and delivered directly to the lot. 2) We put a fresh cut on our trees, run them through a netting that keeps the branches safe and then help tie them on your car. We appreciate trucks, but we can tie Christmas trees on a Prius, a mini-van or your Mustang! 3) We have a variety of trees - Nobles, Nordman, Grands, Doug Firs and Natural Alpine.

I think we will have Clyde the Camel able to visit the lot and Santa will be here on December 3rd - Noon to 3 pm!
Location: We are located in a lot in front of Wahooz. (Previously we were in front of Roaring Springs, but the expansion of the waterpark required us to move!)
The Holidays at the Farm

We will have 250 fresh cut Christmas trees, wreaths, and door swags. You can even ride the lighted tractor wagon around the Christmas tree lot! Santa will be in his shed waiting for pictures with your kiddos. We'll have a Hot Chocolate Bar, Food Trucks and merchandise and craft vendors on site.

Sweetpeas Christmas Trees

14 years ago, my mother thought it would be fun to buy a few Christmas trees from Salem, Oregon and sell them at her parent's house. My grandparents, Aunt and Uncle loaded up their van and truck and went on an adventure that would turn into something more than any of us ever thought!
We now sell four types of trees (Nobles, Nordman, Douglas and Grands) ranging from 3-4 ft all the way to 20+ ft! We also have a variety of fresh wreaths and swags to choose from. Don't forget to visit our free hot chocolate bar to help keep you warm while wandering through fresh trees. When you find the perfect tree, our family will give it a fresh cut and secure it to your vehicle while your family warms up by the fire.
Our tree lot truly has a "Hallmark movie" feel to it! We can't wait to be a part of your family's Christmas traditions!.
The Big Foot Kettle Corn food truck will be here all season and on December 13th and 15th we will be having a drawing for a free turkey. Raffle tickets will be given with each tree purchase.

Cut Down Your Own in the Boise National Forest!

This permit allows you to cut a Christmas tree within designated areas of the Boise National Forest! Lifelong memories are built during these special times and we are happy to help with any information gathering you'll need to make this trip a safe and enjoyable one. Cutting a holiday tree from the Boise National Forest is a special tradition to share with family and friends while helping to maintain a healthy forest.
Christmas tree permits are available for sale October 13 and cutting is allowed beginning November 19.
Please be sure to read and agree to all the tips, guidelines, and General Permit Conditions when selecting your tree.
